Swell Supper: Utensil-Free Dinner!

Swell Supper: Utensil Free Dinner!

Hi, it’s Macki, bringing you a finger licking Swell Supper. No need for spoons or forks (or sporks!) with our completely utensil free meal. My daughter had the ‘super fun’ idea to make a dinner we could eat using only our hands. What kid doesn’t love eating with their hands? We began our search through Rebecca’s recipes and made some fun discoveries. For this hands-on meal we are cooking up Naan Pizza, Turnkey Turkey Meatballs, Simple Sugar Snap Peas, and Oatmeal Raisinet Cookies.

Start this meal by prepping the ingredients for the meatballs so you can put them together while the cookies are baking. Once the meatball prep is finished cut the ends of the peas off, remove the string and set aside. Make the oatmeal raisinet cookies according to the recipe.

While the cookies are baking you have just enough time to put your turnkey turkey meatballs together.  I bake the meatballs instead of sautéing, that way I don’t have to hover over the stove and there’s less oil involved.  I add about 2 tablespoon of milk while mixing the ingredients to make them moist. Place small meatballs on greased cookie sheet. Take the cookies out of the oven and place the meatballs into the oven and bake for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile get the toppings for your pizza out and ready for building. Have your kiddo(s) paint on the sauce and add whatever toppings they prefer. My daughter loves this so much she makes pizza’s for the entire family. When the meatballs are done take them out and turn the oven up to 400 degrees. Place the pizza’s in the oven. Heat oil and butter in a sauté pan for the sugar snap peas. Add the snap peas and cook until just soft. Take the pizza’s out of the oven and dinner is ready. Remember, all you need are plates and napkins, no need for utensils! Now doesn’t that sound swell?
