Swell Supper: Easy Sunday Dinner
Someone recently said pizza suits the casual “ethos” of the culinary moment. To me that’s “fancy” for saying pizza can feature anything and everything Italian, but more importantly, it does so easily, inexpensively and healthily. To my husband, pizza doesn’t have a “moment”. Reality stars and national league pitchers signed by the New York Yankees have moments, but not pizza. In our house artisanal pizza is a staple at least once a week. This week we are using the grill to make Grilled Artisanal Pizza with Mediterranean Chickpea Salad with Gummy Bomb Pops for dessert.
Begin this meal with the gummy bomb pops. Start in the morning so they will be frozen for dessert. The rest of this meal is going to be done in a snap! Make the mediterranean chickpea salad and place in the fridge until ready to serve.
Get the pizza dough ready for grilling and bring it out to the grill along with your toppings. Grill the pizza according to the recipe. Set your table and serve you dinner outside and bring out the gummy bomb pops for cooling off in the evening summer heat. Now doesn’t that sound swell?
