Meatless Monday: Sesame Greens

Meatless Monday: Sesame Greens

The advantage of letting your kid see the Star Wars Trilogy is that everything after (including food) can be likened to something in the movie. Take for example this “mini green light sabers.” They were gobbled right up.

I thought it would help that he was already a fan of sesame seed bagels, but that theory went right out the window as I watched my kid wipe the seeds off each light saber before popping it in his mouth.

With or without sesame seeds, I think Yoda would be proud of my little Jedi.

Great creative way to get him to eat his green veggies! Maybe the sesame seeds will work out next time.

We use a similar recipe – blanch beans for 4-5mins, drain, toss in serving bowl with toasted sesame seeds and some low sodium soy sauce. Great paired with teriyaki grilled pork chops and sweet potatoes! Sometimes I add matchstick bell peppers and/or carrots.
