Quick Apple Crumble
This is the perfect dessert to make when you are having last minute company. You can make it with any kind of fruit, but we are partial to apples. (It’s especially good with a mix of tart and sweet apples.) It also involves smushing and sprinkling which are big fan favs in our house.
Ingredients:
3 large Granny Smith apples
3 large Fugi apples
1 meyer lemon
1 stick of butter (at room temp)
3 additional pats of butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/4 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup flour
Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Peel, core and slice apples. Squeeze lemon juice over apples and toss. Set aside. In a medium bowl combine brown sugar, oats and flour. Cube butter and knead into brown sugar and oat mixture with hands until clumpy. Transfer apples to a baking dish and sprinkle brown sugar and oat mixture over entire top. Place 3 pats of butter evenly on top of crumble and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Serves 6 to 8.

My daughter and I made this for my mom who came to visit. We all LOVED it and my mom was so impressed that her granddaughter made her such a delicious treat! Thanks for the great recipe.
