Pumpkin Spice Smoothie

Pumpkin Spice Smoothie

If you are a fan of Starbuck’s seasonal favorite, the Pumpkin Spice Latte, you are in luck. We made up our own caffeine-free version in the form of a smoothie and it is damn good. Did I just swear? It’s THAT good.

Pumpkin Spice Smoothie

It includes two of my kid’s favorite things: maple syrup and the blender. The only mistake we made was that we only made one serving to share. (Don’t worry, I’ve included a recipe for 2 servings below)

My little guy is pretty sick right now but this ice cold (yet cozy) smoothie was a perfect way to brighten up his face. I think being allowed to watch movies all day helped as well. Now for the recipe…

Pumpkin Spice Smoothie Recipe

Prep Time: 5 mins

Ingredients:
1/2 cup 100% pure canned pumpkin
1 cup lowfat milk
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons real maple syrup
1 1/2 to 2 cups ice

Pour the first 4 ingredients in the blender, add 1/2 cup of ice and blend on high. Continue adding ice 1/2 cup at a time until ice is pureed and smoothie reaches desired consistency. Makes 2 irresistible servings.

This sounds amazing. I've been wanting a pumpkin spice latte for days, but have a cold and have been avoiding the caffeine. This is perfect and will make my throat feel so much better! Thanks!

Hmmm…. I wonder if it could make a creamer for coffee. : )

My daughter and I were just talking about making pumpkin pie milkshakes. I bet I could just sub ice cream for the milk and ice and have a milkshake. Yum!

Oh, and Phyllis–mix pumpkin butter and your choice of plain creamer (cream, half and half, milk, whatever) then pour that in your coffee. Amazing.
