Egg in a Hole Redux

Remember that Egg in a Hole with Love recipe?  My kid wanted to make it again, so we decided to try out a different variation to see if we could make it even better. For this we used thick cut cinnamon bread instead of whole wheat bread. Is it any wonder that it was 20x better than the first go-round?

Ingredients:
2 eggs
1 tablespoon of milk
2 slices thick cut cinnamon swirl bread
cooking spray
1 heart shaped cookie cutter

Crack two eggs into a cooking container with a spout. (We used a Pyrex measuring cup.) Add milk and whisk eggs. Set aside. Place two slices of bread on a cutting board and press cookie cutter into center of bread until the heart shape can be easily removed. Spray non-stick frying pan with cooking spray and place bread in pan and place over medium heat. Pour egg into heart cut out and cook until egg is no longer liquidy. Flip bread over and cook for just a moment. Flip egg from frying pan onto a plate. Repeat with second slice of bread. Serves 2.
