Rainbow Ribbon Hair Band
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we decided to come up with a wearable something that would last well beyond the green shamrock holiday. In our house, we are crazy for hair accessories, and they happen to be my daughter’s favorite accessory to wear almost every day. Usually, you’ll find her with a headband on, Olivia Newton John style, but over the last year she has occasionally ventured into the world of pony and pigtail holders. She also happens to love all things rainbow. So, what better thing to make than a rainbow ribbon hair band; it’s so unbelievably simple to do. I cannot believe I have been spending so much money on these things in the past!
My kid was more than ready to make a hair band of her own. She picked out a stretchy band, dug into a pile of ribbon scraps and began tying each ribbon onto the band.
First one done and she was ready to make four more.
Hmm, looks like a perfect pony tail day today! Now for the instructions…
Rainbow Ribbon Hair Band
Prep Time: 5 minutes Hands on Time: 20 – 30 minutes, depending on amount of ribbon used
Supplies:
Hair Band
Ribbon(s)
Scissors
Begin by cutting pieces of ribbon about 10-12 inches long. We used about 30 pieces of ribbon to fill up the entire hair band. Tie each ribbon around the hair band and pull it tightly to secure into place. Fill up the hair band as much as you like and you should be looking at a homemade ribbon hair band just as if not more beautiful than what you find in stores!
