Eggcellent Egg Dying Alternative

Hi, It’s me Macki! I love coloring Easter eggs and look forward to it all year. Growing up my family would all gather around the table and make elaborate designs with crayon and then dip them into different mugs of colored water. We would oooh and ahhh over each others designs. You can imagine my excitement when I became a mom and was able continue this tradition with my own kids.

When I thought my daughter was old enough at 2 + years, I bought all kinds of dye, colors, glitters, oils, etc. I set up the table with tons of mugs filled with colored water and we started our egg decorating. We didn’t get very far before mugs were knocked over and toddler tantrums ensued. Since that year I have learned my lesson, no more mugs of liquid begging to wreak havoc.

Instead we decorate our eggs with all kinds of things like large confetti, feathers, crayons, markers, anything we have in our art supply. We have so much fun making these uniquely decorated eggs and the kids are beyond proud of their work.

My daughter loves the eggs so much that she hunts for these first, looking past the candy and sticker filled eggs! Makes for a proud mom. Now for the instructions.

Hard boiled eggs can be left out for a couple of hours before they need to go back in the fridge.
