Luv Bug Smoothie & Confession

Luv Bug Smoothie & Confession

Friends, followers, first-timers: I have a confession to make. Last week marked our 365th post, but it took us longer than 365 days to get there. We set out to cook 365 new recipes in 365 days. Along the way we discovered so many new recipes. Along the way I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl . Along the way my kid learned to love more foods than I ever imagined possible. Along the way our mission became more about spending time cooking together. I’m not going to make excuses because I think we succeeded and I’m so proud of what we accomplished. We’re going to keep cooking, but we’re also embarking on another adventure. More about that in a minute.

Luv Bug Smoothie & Confession

When I was a kid one of my favorite things at sleep away camp was bug juice. Bug juice is basically watered down fruit punch and it flowed freely in the mess hall. (Somehow I’m betting that camps no longer serve this sugary stuff.) When I asked my kid if he wanted to make Bug Juice this morning, he cringed. I was so disappointed, but then I came up with the idea of making a lady bug coaster to go with it. That idea he loved and the Luv Bug Smoothie was born. It made for the perfect Valentine’s Day recipe and the perfect segue into our new adventure. In addition to cooking together, this year I’ll also be Crafting With My Kid. A new year, a new challenge. 365 days of craft, art and art appreciation. This year I’ll have a little help from my artsy friends. So check out our first Lady Bug Coaster crafting project over at www.craftingwithmykid.com and check out our Luv Bug smoothie recipe…
