Honey Orange Lemonade
A few weeks back we were wandering through Sur La Table when a mini juicer caught my kid’s eye. He begged to take it home with us. It wasn’t a toy and it wasn’t candy so I obliged. Daily requests to make lemonade went unfulfilled because we never have enough lemons in the house.
This weekend as he peered into the glass bowl of oranges on the kitchen table he asked to make orange lemonade.Hmmm, I thought. That’s not a half bad idea. We broke out the new juicer (so cute) and he got right to work. The little man loves machinery.
Rather than heat up the water to make a simple syrup, we went with room temp water and added honey instead. It gave this orange lemonade a really nice flavor and you don’t need as much sweetness because oranges are not nearly as tart as lemons.
Tasted great poured over ice and even better the next day after it had been in the fridge for 24 hours.
