Baked Tofu Bites
My super cool friend, Sonya, who runs the blog Parlor [1] is not only a savior when it comes to all my beauty-related questions, she’s also a crafting and cooking queen. After seeing her 20th Facebook post of the cutest food ever, I asked if she’d guest post here. She graciously accepted and did a bang up job. Take it away, Sonya… Hi! Sonya here! Though you would never know by looking at him, my son is one-quarter Korean. In fact, the only Asian thing about him may be his love of soy sauce. He loves it on just about everything but especially on tofu. Tofu is not only a great source of soy protein but also provides calcium, iron, copper, manganese, selenium, and omega-3 fatty acids.
Over the years, I’ve developed my own go-to pan-Asian marinade. It works really well with this baked tofu recipe and it’s also delicious with salmon, chicken, or veggies. Feel free to play around with the ingredients. Try adding fresh ginger, sesame seeds, or more cayenne pepper if your family likes a little more kick.
My friend Kay once told me there is very little her kids won’t eat if there is a toothpick in it. I served the tofu bites with them for fun and my son loved it! He even had a second helping. If you have leftovers (I wouldn’t count on it), these bites are great reheated or served cold on salads.

Baked Tofu Bites Recipe
Prep Time: 10 mins Cooking Time: 30 mins
Ingredients:
One block extra firm tofu
2-3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 T agave nectar (can substitute honey)
1 t sesame oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/8 t black pepper
Pinch of cayenne pepper

1. Dry tofu and lay out a double layer of paper towels. Cut tofu into 1” cubes and place on paper towels. Cover with more paper towel and gently press to remove moisture. Let sit while preparing marinade.
2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together soy sauce, crushed garlic, agave nectar, sesame oil, black pepper and cayenne pepper.
3. Add tofu to the bowl and gently fold to coat. Cover and marinate 20-30 minutes, stirring twice. 15 minutes into marinating, preheat oven to 400 degrees.
4. Spray a shallow baking dish with cooking spray and arrange tofu in a single layer. Bake 30 minutes or until nice and brown, gently turning tofu twice during baking.
