A.E.I.O.U. – Vowel Worksheet
Lately my kid has shown a real interest in reading. He goes to a developmental preschool that doesn’t “teach” reading in the classic sense. I like that he’s exposed to letters and concepts and not pressured to read, but that leaves the reading lessons up to me. I was trying to explain the concept that with vowels “the first one does the talking and the second one does the talking” when I realized I’d never really explained the difference between consonents and vowels.
I whipped up this little worksheet to help him identify the vowel letters. He used a marker to match up like letters. He completed the activity so fast that I was sure it did no good. But sure enough, this morning he could recite all his vowel letters. Yay for a simple, crafty worksheet. You can download it right here…

Thank you! My son just recently told me that he wants to learn to read, so I am definitely going to give this a try.
