Oven Fries Transformed

Forgive me, for I know that sometimes pictures of food can look horrifyingly disgusting but I just couldn’t help but share this with you.  We made oven fries which were quite delicious all on their own but paled in comparison to what we did with the leftovers the next day.

You see, we also had left over marinara and we always have shredded mozzarella so we made our oven fries into pizza fries and while this doesn’t look pretty it tastes pretty darn amazeballs.  And IMHO making leftovers taste great is quite an accomplishment. What have you done with your leftovers lately?

Oven Fries Transformed

Prep Time: 15 mins  Cooking Time: 30 mins

4 large russet potatoes
olive oil
salt & pepper
marinara sauce
shredded mozeralla cheese

1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and fill a large bowl with cool water.
2. Wash and dry the potatoes and slice them in half lengthwise.
3. Slice each half in half lengthwise and then cut into thirds.
4. Toss potato wedges in cool water as you go. Allow to soak for a few minutes, drain and pat dry.
5. Drizzle with olive oil and spread out on a rimmed baking sheet (you may need 2).
6. Sprinkle with salt and bake for 30 minutes or until crisp.
7. Remove from oven and serve immediately.
8. OR pile up cooked oven fries add a few spoonfuls of marinara and cheese to taste.
9. Return to oven to melt cheese and serve.

Makes: 4 to 6 servings
