Cooking with My Kid: Teaching My Kid and myself the art of cooking in 365 days

Fake Crepe

Fake Crepe

This is one of our all time easiest breakfasts and my kid really likes to make it. It’s basically a “flat egg” filled with something sweet or savory (or both) and then rolled up. My kid enjoys spreading the filling and rolling up the egg at the end. He likes it so much he’ll even request a “flat egg” rolled up with nothing in it.

Prep Time: 5 mins  Cooking Time: 5 mins

Ingredients:
1 egg
1 egg white
1 tablespoon lowfat milk
1 to 2 teaspoons of berry jam
or
1  to 2 teaspoons of cream cheese
or
cinnamon and sugar
or
any filling you can think of

Crack one egg and one egg white into a bowl. Add milk and whisk together. Fry in an 8-inch non-stick round pan over medium heat. Be sure that egg is thin and spread to all edges of the pan. When egg is cooked, slide it off onto a plate or cutting board. Place filling in the middle and quickly spread around the egg. Gently roll egg and eat while hot.

PS: I read your comments to my kid every night. He loves hearing what you think of our adventures... so tell us! And check back in if you've tried out one of our recipes!
